Why is Colombia exluded from Yahoo Answers travel list?

travel deals

It includes the Lebanon which is in a drawn-out war! So why is it ‘forbidden’? Is it too tiny and insignificant? Is the land of Juan Valdez a ghost town to which no one visits - at all? Or is this another ‘American’ thing? What’s the deal?

  1. Good question.I asked this once and everybody told me to go back to Colombia.I was born here in the USA.Although it’s been a good 34 years since I’ve been to Medellin,Colombia is a beautiful place.I think the reason it’s not on the list is because of all the bad publicity the media gives because of FARC.This is probably why it is on the “do not go to” list in the USA.I have plenty of friends who are from Colombia and visit more than twice a year.

  2. cause people are always doggin our peeps

  3. I am assuming you are talking about “yahoo! travel”

Countries that are on the “forbidden” list include those in conflict, or those where the USA has travel restrictions on (like CUBA)

Other countries and some airlines have been used so extensively for use for fraud, it’s cheaper for the travel agency to refuse tickets to that country/ through that carrier then it is to **** up all the losses that incur through fraud.

Off the top of my head I haven’t been keeping track if it is or not.

If it IS- then these may be one of the reasons.

  4. Yeah good question. Colombia should not be ‘barred’ from Yahoo Answers. It’s as if Yahoo were trying to make a poltical statement. What harm could it possibly do?
